I am happy to announce I have lost 5.4 pounds in less than a week. I am pretty shocked at the amount of weight loss, especially considering I went out to dinner with my roommate one night for his birthday and had sushi, which as you know had rice which is NOT ALLOWED on Atkins. I have also been putting beans in my salad and my dressing contains some yogurt in it as well. I still managed to lose 5.4 pounds! AND I had a few bites of chocolate cake last night. I know I shouldn't have ANY of those things but if I had self control when it came to food, I wouldn't be in the situation I'm in now, so it's great that I have made the progress I have made!
Normally for breakfast I have black coffee with sugar free hazelnut flavoring. I premade "egg muffins" as what I call them. I line cupcake tin with bacon, pour some scrambled egg mixture, maybe a sprinkle of green onions and bake it. I will have 1 or 2 for breakfast and it fills me up and keeps me very satisfied until lunch! That is when I normally have a small salad with either deli turkey or chicken breast. Dinner usually tends to be the same or maybe some other type of chicken I make with a salad. I munch on cheese or peanuts throughout most of the day. So far this is working. I normally get very sick of diets FAST especially when I eat the same thing day after day but I am ultimately enjoying it at this moment, especially seeing the scale change!
I always tell myself to avoid the scale and weigh myself only once a week, but I find this hard to do. I want to know all the work I am putting in, is working. My scale is also not the greatest piece of equipment and I have to stand on it a few times to get an accurate reading, which makes me feel obsessive, hoping that every time I step on that scale that it will change.
I have very high expectations which I know are unrealistic. I was hoping to lose 15 pounds by Oct 1, and I only have 9.6 more to go and a little over a month to do it. I know the first week is when you tend to lose the most weight but I still have 3 more days before my week is up and I'm already down 5.4!!!! If I can lose 5 per week, I will be down about 25 by Oct 1 which I will be astonished!!!!! I don't want to get my hopes up but we'll see how it goes for a couple more days, I may need to increase my goal!!
